About
“Ask God to give you a drum set,” was a mother’s response to her musically inclined seven-year-old son. So Andrew prayed a simple prayer, and God answered by auspiciously providing that drum set through a family friend. This would set Andrew on a path where he would ever find himself following the rhythms of God’s heartbeat into a greater Divine purpose. Through the years of growth and discovery since, even when uncertainty has surrounded issues of life—from record deals to a potentially terminal illness—of one thing has Andrew become certain: that he was purposed to bring God praise. Andrew holds to this purpose as a compass, giving his life to help others do the same.
The year Andrew started banging out a rhythm in his parents' basement was the same year he gave his heart to Jesus. Ever since, his passion for music and love for God have only deepened. Writing and playing music since childhood, Andrew took the next logical step after high school and studied Music Theory and Composition at Stetson University, earning his bachelor’s degree in 2002. Having begun to travel during his university years, Andrew continues to tour locally, nationally, and abroad, strengthening the community of believers and calling out to the hearts of those outside the faith through the medium of music and his lifestyle. Traveling from Haiti to Israel, and Mexico to Europe, Andrew has also slowed his tempo at times to serve the local church. After a two-year stint as Worship Pastor in Wisconsin, he moved back to his home state of Florida in 2004.
Since returning to Florida, Andrew has experienced trying highs and lows that have served to pave the way for a deeper, more honest worship. Personal trials—including walking away from a lucrative record deal in obedience to God, and facing terminal cancer—are behind much of the depth found in his work. And through it all, God has continued to lead Andrew with the rhythms of His love, never leaving him without hope. Walking away from the record deal led to a valuable season filling the role of Worship Pastor at The Covenant Center in Lakeland, Florida, where he was later ordained. And after battling cancer for a time, Andrew was miraculously healed, affording him the privilege to continue praising God on earth.
In 2008 Andrew incorporated Lion and Lamb, a prophetic entity with a mission to seek and reveal the heart of God through spirit and truth worship. Today, when he’s not on the road, Andrew is at home in The Harbour Church community of Pompano Beach, Florida (www.harbourchurch.org) where he continues to write songs and sing prophetically over the generations. Many have come to love the sound of Andrew’s voice and are accustomed to seeing him with his guitar or on the keys, but Andrew has not forgotten that first drum set. Throughout his journey of following and echoing God’s rhythms, he marvels at how “this partnership between the human and the Divine allows us to see God being revealed in the ‘making of’ as much as the ‘made’.” With this revelation, he continues to humbly follow the Divine heartbeat, while fervently taking ownership of his life’s purpose to bring God praise and rally others to do the same.
